From the ideal to the living museum, the man who has achieved great business success, gained knowledge and gave interest in art, religion, and philosophy, Khun Lek Viriyaphant and his wife, Khun Prapai Wiriyaphan, have built an ancient city museum at Samut Prakan Province in 1963. With an area of more than 800 rai, the creation is relevant to a map of Thailand, providing simulations of important ancient sites at various spots. This is to let people visit, see, and know more about the art of Thai architecture that reflects the simple way of Thai people’s lives in the past. With the concept that has been inspired and has foreseen to the problems in the turbulent society as a result of the advancement of material and technology. Therefore, he built the Sanctuary of Truth Museum in 1981, which is located in Naklua Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The place was entirely built of wood and using ancient wood joint techniques. The role of human beings, the truth of life, and life’s principles were conveyed through the wood carvings. In addition, Khun Lek and Khun Praphai Wiriyaphant have also created the Erawan Museum, or Three-headed elephant, which is the world’s first and largest hand-tapping floating sculpture. The aim is to reflect the belief that the Erawan elephant is the lord of all elephants in the universe, which is one of the important symbols of Indra, and a symbol of good deeds according to the doctrine of all religions.
